Blend Family began with a simple idea…that food could bring people together in powerful, joyful ways.
Where It All Began
In 2006, Matt & Nina purchased an empty pub in Kelham Island, Sheffield. That pub became The Milestone – Sheffield’s first gastro pub – and quickly earned regional and national acclaim. The Milestone’s success sparked a wave of new restaurants and bars across Sheffield, and a growing investment portfolio supporting young food and tech businesses.
Inspired By Global Traditions
But it was regular trips to Asia that shifted the vision. Watching families share authentic, generational meals in communal spaces sparked a new idea: food halls that celebrate culture, creativity, and connection.
That inspiration led to the launch of our first food hall, Cutlery Works, and the journey hasn’t stopped since.

Our purpose is simple: to bring people together through vibrant, authentic, food-led experiences that showcase the incredible diversity of culinary talent.
We may have started our journey as a gastro pub, but thanks to a pinch of ambition and a heaping spoonful of passion, we’ve expanded into something truly amazing!
Since the launch of our first food hall, Cutlery Works, in Sheffield back in 2018, we’ve been on a remarkable journey, providing a platform that champions talented independent chefs and food entrepreneurs.
We equip these culinary artists with the space and tools they need to not just survive, but thrive! After all, we think every Food Partner deserves a stage.
