Raising a Glass to Black History Month: Introducing Our New Cocktail Special
At Blend Family, we believe food and drink have a unique way of bringing people together. They create conversations that help us to celebrate the stories, cultures and communities that shape our food halls.
This Black History Month, we’re proud to be doing exactly that with the launch of a brand-new cocktail special, created in partnership with The Black Curriculum, a social enterprise dedicated to embedding Black history, arts, and culture all year round.
Available across all of our food halls throughout October, our limited-edition Kromanti Mai Tai is a vibrant tropical twist on a classic rum punch and Mai Tai. Made with Kromanti Plantain Rum from a London-based distillery, alongside Triple Sec, lime, pineapple, orgeat and hibiscus, it’s a cocktail that celebrates Caribbean heritage in every sip.
But this drink about more than what’s in the glass.
As part of our ongoing Cocktails for Good initiative, every Kromanti Mai Tai sold will directly support two causes that matter deeply to us. Fifty per cent of profits will be donated to The Black Curriculum, helping to tackle food insecurity in local communities, while the remaining fifty per cent will support Blend Culinary Foundation and its work delivering educational programmes in schools and supporting food alleviation charities.
The proceeds raised will help The Black Curriculum cover travel costs for young people, workshop materials and facilitator fees, ensuring more students can access inspiring learning opportunities that explore Black History and Culture.
So, why don’t you make your next cocktail count?
By choosing a Kromanti Mai Tai this October, you’ll be helping support young people, champion Black history education and tackle food insecurity, one glass at a time.
Cheers to good drinks and making a positive impact together.
